Lunch, Pizza?

Having lessons from 12 noon to 5pm straight is rather troublesome. I have to leave home at 11 am, and since I woke up at around 9, I would have to eat both my breakfast and lunch between that two hours from 9 to 11. You would think that the best solution is having a brunch. But brunch is really not my thing. How am I survive 5 hours straight without food?!!!

Bring food to school to snack on during lesson breaks. Today, I made pizza! It’s not the traditional pizza, but I’m rather happy with it.

I simply used slices of wholemeal bread, spread a layer of pasta sauce and another layer of mozzarella cheese on it and sprinkled sliced sausage on it. Baked then for around 8 mins at 210°c and tada! Lunch/snacks!

I cut them up into little quartered squares and packed them into my cute little bento box and brought then to school. (Will update with photo of the bento box later).

Hama Beads Creations #1

image

Not the first I’ve ever made, but the first I’m ever going to post online. A collection of food hama beads key chains – onigiri and blah. These are not designed by me; I simply googled ‘sushi hama beads’ and studied the photographs and made them accordingly. I actually made them for my mother’s birthday. She told me that she loves unwrapping presents, so I was inspired to give her (her age) presents. Desperate to make up the number, I decided make many key chains and badges out of hama beads and wrap them individually. Here’s just some of them that I made into key chains. Of course I failed to make up the magical number, but she was pleased and happily unwrapping them. :)

Lunch! Baked Rice with Egg.

image

My lunch for today. This poor Leo is a poor student who earns a monthly income that requires her to scrimp and save. Her solution? A time-and-money saving baked rice in ramekin dish from Ikea made with leftover rice, egg and canned meat with gravy. Recipe by her; adapted from here and there. Will come up with more variants so that she will not have to eat the same thing everyday.

New Year, New Beginning

Yes, the new year is always the time for new beginnings and new year resolutions. The latter is something I just thought briefly about in the beginning and promptly forget. This seem to be a little late now, but for me, the new year never felt like it started until school starts. Which is 9a.m in the morning tomorrow.

What I’m doing now as I’m typing this post is to clear my email accounts (I have 2) of junk. I have 2000 over in my mailbox!!! Which brings about resolution no.1 for 2013: DELETE UNWANTED EMAILS IMMEDIATELY AFTER SEEING THEM OR AFTER I DO NOT NEED THEM (The pack rat and procrastinator in me resists it, though)

It also leads to resolution no.2 in a roundabout manner: TO SHOP LESS. I’m a mugger during term time, more or less, so I can’t physically shop. The numerous emails from group-buying, coupons/vouchers sites, shopping sites I subscribe to are constantly tempting me. Since they are clogging up my mailboxes anyway, I decided to unsubscribe from these mailing lists. Good Riddance! And 一石二鸟 (killing two birds with one stone) at that! [I finally narrowed it down to 666 emails now.]

Resolution no.3: No, this has nothing to do with junk mails. TO PROCRASTINATE NO LONGER, and this includes trying to commit to blogging and tweeting at least once a week and no more than three. I don’t want to be addicted to SNS!

And with this I’m back in the blogosphere (though I doubt I’m missed given my sporadic appearance and disappearances under various aliases.)
